The penthouse at Quay Tower, new high-design condominium on the Brooklyn Heights waterfront, has just gone into contract for over $20 million, shattering the previous record of $16.645 million for Matt Damon’s Brooklyn Heights condo at the Standish. The buyer is combining two Marmol Radziner-designed penthouses at the top of the 30-story, building with architecture by ODA’s Eran Chen to create a massive five-bedroom residence with 7,433 SF of living space and a 1,179 SF terrace. Views include the Harbor and Statue of Liberty, all of the Manhattan skyline, and north up the East River past the Brooklyn Bridge. The buyer, who was considering similarly priced units in Tribeca and Downtown Manhattan, was drawn to the Brooklyn Heights location and beautiful California modernist design and custom interiors by AD100, LA-based duo Marmol Radziner, like wide plank fumed white oak floors and custom white oak cabinetry. The unit is serviced by two elevators and is equipped with Amazon Alexa devices that can be further customized to create a fully integrated smart home experience that controls lighting, shades, thermostat and more. Quay Tower is the first condominium in Brooklyn to form a strategic partnership with Amazon to create this experience. Andrew Anderson with Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, the exclusive sales and marketing agency for Quay Tower, brokered the deal.
