Mixed-Use Flushing Development Tangram House Sells Penthouse For $3M

Tangram House South recently sold its most expensive luxury penthouse within the building, redefining the lifestyle of Flushing. The penthouse is a duplex that sold for $3,099,800 and boasts 3-bedrooms and 4-bathrooms. This is a record sale for Tangram House especially in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

JG Neukomm Architecture, famous for their work with Tiffany, Calvin Klein and hotelier Ian Schrager, designed the penthouse with indoor-outdoor space that fits into New Yorker’s new COVID lifestyle. The duplex has 2,417 sq.ft. of interior living space with a nearly 500 sq.ft. private terrace. The terrace is complete with a BBQ and fire pit, perfect for entertaining outdoors all year long. 

Tangram is a 1.2 million sq.ft. mixed-use development that includes a hotel, retail, residential, and office space. The development is located in Flushing, Queens, one of New York City’s most vibrant neighborhoods and within 20 minutes of Manhattan.

New York City’s Christmas season has kicked off with the 88th Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting ceremony held last night. This year the ceremony was done very differently including social distancing and masks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rockefeller Center was closed to the public to prevent the large crowds that usually form around midtown Manhattan. Mayor Bill de Blasio and Rob Speyer, CEO of Tishman Speyer, ended the ceremony by lighting up the tree together.

Henri Bendel To Close It’s Doors After 123 Years Following Holiday Season

September 16, 2018

L Brands, the parent company which owns retail icon Henri Bendel, has announced that they will be closing all 23 locations after 123 years. The closings will take place following the 2019 holiday shopping season, giving nostalgic shoppers a last chance to make their purchases from the iconic retailer. The Henri Bendel closing will leave the 86,000 SF 712 Fifth Avenue, which is owned by the Paramount Group, vacant. The lease carries $6.5 million in annual rent commitments and runs through February 28, 2021. L Brands has decided to focus on their larger holdings which include Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works. They initially purchased the retailer in 1985 before expanding to 11 states.
